In one study six 3 months old and two 7 months old babies were trained to step on a slowly moving trademill on a daily basis. The infants improved their stepping. The infants who has problem with stepping and balancing, later benefitted from the training. The researchers inferred that this training can contribute to early onset of neuromuscular development and other movement skills (Malina, 2003).
